With Windows 8, Microsoft has tried to do something that hasn't been done before - create hybrid system software that works for desktop, mobile and everything in between.

Windows 8.1 adds many useful tweaks and fixes to the OS, including Start button, better searching, Lock Screen, multitasking, the ability to boot directly to the desktop, and a much-improved app store.
