Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 "August Update" (Update 2) now available

Microsoft has released Update 2 for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1 today. Following are some of the new features and improvements:

• Precision touchpad improvements
• Miracast Receive
• Minimazing login prompts for SharePoint Online

Update to add a new performance counter feature for Tiered Storage Spaces in Windows Server 2012 R2

 After you apply this update, new performance counters are available in Windows Performance Monitor.

 To apply this feature, install update rollup 2975719.
